The Role and Responsibilities As an Amazon Warehouse Associate, your primary responsibilities will include: • Handling and storing inventory in a safe and efficient manner • Preparing and packing clients' orders with precision and care • Loading boxes onto delivery trucks, ensuring timely dispatch and delivery • Utilizing scanners to read product barcodes and following screen prompts for task guidance • Troubleshooting issues and resolving problems in a proactive and professional manner • Ensuring products meet quality standards, conducting regular quality checks and reporting any defects or discrepancies • Operating Industrial Power Trucks (IPTs) such as forklifts and pallet drivers, and working at heights reaching 40 feet, with comprehensive training and certification provided In addition to these core responsibilities, you will be expected to maintain strict adherence to safety, quality, and production standards, working collaboratively with colleagues to achieve team goals and objectives. Physical and Operational Requirements To be successful in this role, you will need to: • Lift up to 49 pounds, with frequent lifting, bending, and reaching required throughout your shift • Move utility carts weighing up to 60 pounds, using manual handling techniques and equipment to minimize strain and injury • Stand, walk, push, pull, squat, bend, and reach throughout your shift, with regular breaks and opportunities to rest and recover • Use various equipment to transport items, including pallet jacks, forklifts, and conveyor belts • Navigate stairs as necessary, with alternative routes and accommodations available for individuals with mobility impairments • Work at heights up to 40 feet on a mezzanine, with comprehensive training and safety equipment provided to ensure your safety and well-being We prioritize your safety and well-being, providing protective gear, safety tips, and regular training to ensure you are equipped to perform your duties safely and effectively. Inside an Amazon Fulfillment Center Our fulfillment centers are dynamic and fast-paced environments, with a focus on safety, quality, and productivity. You can expect: • Safety: We prioritize your safety, providing protective gear, safety tips, and regular training to ensure you are equipped to perform your duties safely and effectively • Environment: Our operations involve working around moving machinery, including order pickers, stand-up forklifts, turret trucks, and mobile carts • Activities: Your tasks may demand standing for long durations, walking, or stair climbing, with regular breaks and opportunities to rest and recover • Temperature: Despite climate controls, warehouse temperatures fluctuate between 60°F and 90°F, with temperatures exceeding 90°F in the truck yard or inside trailers on warm days • Noise: The operational noise levels are high at times, with hearing protection provided if required • Dress code: We maintain a relaxed dress code with a primary focus on safety, with closed-toe shoes mandatory and protective footwear required in certain units
