What this role is about
As a Warehouse Shipping Associate at Petco, you will play a critical role in ensuring the timely delivery of merchandise to our customers. Your primary focus will be on expertly coordinating the receipt, transfer, and replenishment of warehouse inventory to efficiently prepare PETCO merchandise for delivery. You will be responsible for: Handling forklift equipment, such as pallet jacks, stand-up lifts, and turret trucks, for efficient operation; Frequently transporting merchandise weighing up to 50 pounds by repeatedly lifting them; Scanning barcodes of items using a handheld computer; Utilizing a computerized pick-module system to manage inventory; Maintaining a safe working environment and adhering to safety protocols at all times.
Requirements
Ability to lift, carry, and bend frequently, with weights up to 50 pounds; Proficiency in operating forklift equipment and handling merchandise; Basic computer skills and ability to use a handheld computer and computerized pick-module system; Excellent communication and teamwork skills; Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines. Preferred: Previous experience in a warehouse or shipping environment; Knowledge of inventory management and control systems; Experience with forklift equipment and material handling; Basic knowledge of pet care and the pet industry.
