Job description
What this role is about
Carma is building an AI-native platform that transforms fleet operations from tedious, manual work into effortless, automated workflows. We’re the fastest-growing company in fleet management software, powering some of the largest fleets in the U.S., including Fortune 500 clients. Backed by Soma Capital, Y Combinator, and other top-tier investors, we raised our $5.5M seed. We’re hiring the top 0.1% of engineers who want real ownership and impact—starting Day 1, you’ll build and ship fast to production for enterprise clients. The role involves owning key product features end-to-end, working across React, NestJS, Postgres, Prisma ORM, and AWS to ship features that power AI-driven workflows and core user experiences. You'll get high-level product direction and be trusted to scope, design, and build solutions quickly and independently. This is a role for someone who knows how to unblock themselves, drill into ambiguity, and ship without waiting on perfect specs.
Requirements
Must-Haves: 2–4 years building full-stack products in production environments; attended a reputable 4-year university with a strong CS program; strong across both frontend and backend; strong product-oriented mindset; ability to take a problem statement and own the solution through to shipping; knows when to move fast, when to ask questions, and when to polish; no ego, no drama—just high-context execution and good judgment; comfortable with ambiguity and skilled at building structure in fast-moving, chaotic environments; excellent communication skills and responsiveness; eagerness to build solutions to challenging problems in a fast-paced and autonomous environment. Ideal Candidate Has: an interest in the automotive space; strong personal projects that demonstrate you have built and shipped products with current active users; current or previous job at a high-growth startup or market-leading tech company, demonstrating fast-track career progression; experience building complex, workflow-driven B2B SaaS products (Vanta, Ramp, Gusto, etc.). Not a Fit If: You’re looking for a 9–5 with fixed hours.
